Silvia Ricopa (Ronin Kaisi)

Ronin Kaisi is the name in the language of Shipibo-Konibo Silvia Ricopa, an expert craftsman traditional who was born in the Indigenous Community of Vista Alegre Ucayali, since the age of eight he learned from his mother the design Kené, knowledge that has allowed him to reach many places leaving traces of the inheritance of their ancestors. Since I arrived to Lima is an important part of the community Shipibo Konibo of Cantagallo. It has been highlighted as a mother craft, textile artist of the Kené, and muralist.

Silvia is also co-author of the mural “Heart of Carachama”, in the Ravine; co-author of the murals of the Place of memory, tolerance and social inclusion (LUM), Municipality of San Isidro and the painted designs on the columns of the electric train in The Victory. In addition, thanks to its ancestral knowledge has participated in fairs of traditional art as “Ruraq Maki” of the Ministry of Culture, the “Fair of our Hands”, and exhibited their work in the I Festival Created Woman Creates the Collective Braiding Forces in the Cultural Center of The Factory. 

He has participated in various exhibitions such as, “Woman, identity matrix,” in the san marcos university, “Women of the Forest” in the Cultural Center of Spain; “creative Hands: the Hand of a Woman “at the art gallery of Juan Pardo Heeren's Icpna, “Woman - Ainbo – Warmi – Mecherraec” at the Sheraton Hotel and “creative Hands: a Tribute to César Ramos” in the Cultural Center of Fine Arts. She was invited as a traditional artist for the ARCO Fair Madrid, Spain. Silvia airs today on their knowledge to their children in the Community of Cantagallo; provided, knitting, painting and singing their designs originating.
